Career Prospects

Graduates of this programme will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to advance their careers and assume more impactful roles. In educational institutions, they may progress to senior teaching positions, curriculum development and coordination, or educational consulting. In corporate settings, they may pursue opportunities in training and development, curriculum design, and programme management, with a focus on enhancing employee skills and promoting continuous learning.

Programme Structure

The Master of Education programme consists of three stackable Graduate Diplomas (GD), comprising two foundational GDs – Graduate Diploma in Education (GDED) and Graduate Diploma in Curriculum and Teaching (GDCT) – and one deepening GD – Graduate Diploma in Learning Design and Technology (GDLDT). Students can opt for either the GDED – GDLDT or GDCT – GDLDT route to attain the master’s degree. They also have the option to choose a standalone GD without completing a master’s degree.

Students are required to complete a total of 60 credit units (cu) with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 to graduate with a Master. The programme offers both a regular pathway (two to four years, part-time), and an accelerated pathway (one year, full-time), with the accelerated option available only through the GDED-GDLDT route.

The GDED is a foundational GD that introduces students to key areas in education, including neuroscience, educational administration, psychology, educational technology, instructional design, and assessment. Through applied coursework, students gain the insights and skills needed to navigate modern educational landscapes and enhance teaching and learning.

The GDCT follows a work-study format, allowing students to learn asynchronously at their workplaces with minimal classroom time. It features a contemporary evidence-based learning approach that seamlessly combines technology with personalised learning mediated by coaching and mentoring.

The GDLDT is a deepening GD focused on learning design and technology, exploring innovative pedagogical approaches and the integration of technologies into learning design and assessment. It equips educational professionals with the skills to leverage digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.

Note: International students interested in pursuing the Master of Education may only choose the Graduate Diploma in Education (GDED) specialisation.
