Department: School of Law
Closing Date: 31 December 2020

We are not a typical academic School of Law. The School of Law aims to train and produce lawyers for the practice of law in Singapore, particularly in the areas of Criminal Law and Family Law. Our Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Laws programmes will provide a comprehensive education that is practice-oriented and multi-disciplinary. An applied learning approach will be adopted where cases and scenarios discussed in class will be drawn from actual cases. We want to produce law graduates who will be an important part of the community, who can immediately apply what they had learnt and are ready to be a productive member of a law practice.

SLAW is recruiting full-time faculty members who shares our education aspiration. Our students are drawn from a cross-section of people – of different ages, experiences and background. Our challenge is to reach each and every one of them, meet them where they are, and get them to where they need to be to practice. It is definitely not the case of being a “sage on a stage” and lecturing: the responsibilities of these positions include developing and teaching courses, mentoring students, and conducting academic and/or applied research. We are interested in candidates who are flexible and able to navigate in more than one of the following areas:

  • Criminal Law
  • Family Law
  • Constitutional and Administrative Law
  • Contract Law
  • Tort Law
  • Tax (preferably in International Taxation)

Basic Requirements:

  • Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Law and at least 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Candidates with teaching and/or working experience in the relevant area will have an added advantage
  • Postgraduate degree holders – Masters or Ph.D. degree holder in a relevant discipline will also be considered

How to Apply:

Please send the Summary of Candidate form together with your full resume, including qualifications, work experience, current & expected salaries and contact number(s) to join_us_faculty@suss.edu.sg. Please indicate "SLAW - Full-time Academic Position" in the email subject title.
