Synopsis

BSE505 Place-Responsive Pedagogy in Outdoor Education evaluates cultural and environmental issues of communities and places in relation to outdoor education. It addresses misconceptions, problematic assumptions, and claims in the extant literature and practices of outdoor education and challenges the notion that risk-taking is an integral part of learning in the outdoors. Students will learn place-responsive pedagogy to effectively create teaching moments in the real world environment.
