Synopsis

This course provides essential training for crisis intervention and trauma counselling. Through reflective learning and critical thinking, course participants will examine life crises such as loss and grieving, trauma, suicide, domestic violence, and mass casualty disasters. There will be opportunities to learn and practice skills and techniques required for crisis intervention. Basic assessment for suicide, violence and triage will be taught. Finally, the importance of self-care will be emphasised
