Topics

  • Design and analysis of composite structures.
  • Aircraft Stability and Control.
  • Design for Manufacture and Operation.
  • Fatique Fracture Mechanics and Damage Tolerance.
  • Flight Experimental Methods and Detail Stressing.

Learning Outcome

  • Carry out the design and analysis methods required of composite structures as used in aerospace vehicles
  • Describe the aspects of aircraft stability and control in the design of aerospace vehicles.
  • Produce a conceptual design of a given aerospace vehicle that meets input design specifications for manufacture and operation.
  • Explain the principles of fatigue fracture mechanics and damage tolerance used in the design process of aerospace vehicles.
  • Discuss and use flight experimental methods and detail stressing to produce a conceptual design of a aerospace vehicle given users’ input/specification.
