ECL205 Multicultural Education and Bilingual Education is a basic and core course of the Preschool Education major. This course is designed to help students understand the basic concepts and theoretical foundations of multicultural education, explore the issues of race, gender, class, and anti-discrimination education in multicultural education. In addition students will learn about Singapore’s multicultural education based on its multicultural background. Through the understanding of multicultural curriculum and teaching activity design, combined with Singapore's language diversity and bilingual education, students will be equipped to apply the teaching and practice of multicultural education and bilingual education in Singapore kindergartens.

E-Learning: BLENDED - Learning is done MAINLY online using interactive study materials in Canvas. Students receive guidance and support from online instructors via discussion forums and emails. This is supplemented with SOME face-to-face sessions. If the course has an exam component, this will be administered on-campus.
