Effective security management is considered to be a crucial business enabler, to safeguard the foundation of sustained competitiveness and business continuity. However, legacy security technologies such as analog CCTV cameras and stand-alone systems no longer meet today’s complex security needs to counter threats, which can be as diverse as vehicle ramming, improvised explosive device, armed assailants, lone wolf aggressor , arson and CBR (chemical, biological and radiological) agents. In FMT213 Security Management for Buildings and Events, students learn about the principles, guidelines and best practices of building and events security services and management. On top of that, the course covers the emerging security technologies for facilities and events management.
