Built Environment Applied Research Project (FMT588)


FMT588 Built Environment Applied Research Project allows students to apply the knowledge and skills they have learnt to work on a problem statement or challenge related to the built environment industry, organisation or firm via a systematic and research-based approach. Successful completion involves an oral defense of your project report.

  • Problem Identification
  • Proposing the topic and scope of study
  • Reviewing and synthesising of relevant literature
  • Formulating research questions
  • Designing research methodology
  • Planning and implementation of the project timeline and milestones
  • Writing a strong and feasible research proposal
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Discussing and evaluating the findings
  • Drawing conclusion and recommendations based on the findings
  • Organising and writing the final project report
  • Presenting and defending the applied research project.
