Synopsis
Students are expected to complete a doctoral dissertation that reflects an original, applied and independent scholarly contribution to the body of knowledge in the chosen field. This will culminate in a dissertation examination, which is followed by an oral defence. The student will be guided by a dissertation supervisor in the completion of the dissertation. The culmination of a doctoral candidate’s final stage of graduate research study lies in the writing, submission and defence of the dissertation.
