Synopsis

Efficient and effective supply chain management is essential to deliver goods and services needed by customers at the right time and place. SCM501 Strategies for Supply Chain Management focuses on the fundamental concepts of supply chain management and covers various topics such as demand planning, inventory management, sourcing, supply chain design and lean systems. This course serves as the foundation for other courses in this programme. Students will learn about the interrelationship between different supply chain/logistics functions. The course will be taught using real-world case examples to illustrate the importance of supply chain management and ways to achieve effectiveness and competitive advantage.
