COVID-19 had impacted the economy globally and most countries are expected to face recessions in 2020 and traditional sources of cash flows are disrupted by border closures. This leads to higher demand for mobile and network infrastructure and connectivity, and increased demand for online and digital services. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) are experiencing as much as 60% more Internet traffic than before the COVID-19 outbreak.
How do we meet the immediate increased demand due to COVID-19, as well as the long-term trend due to the digitalisation of the global economy? This talk will share more on the enablers of the digital economy and the critical enablers for decentralised e-inclusion.
