Learn. A Way Of Life.

On Sep 8, we launched SUSS LifE, our unique brand of education that encompasses lifelong and experiential learning. Through SUSS LifE, Singaporeans will have opportunities to develop themselves to their fullest potential throughout their life. The launch was held in conjunction with our Open House, where our student ambassadors, prospective students, alumni, faculty and industry partners converged.

Spearheaded by our new College of Lifelong and Experiential Learning (CLEL), SUSS LifE will have three sub-entities – CCPE, Centre for University Core (CUC) and Centre for Experiential Learning (CEL). CUC and CEL are new units formed by re-organising UC, with CUC providing our University Core courses and CEL orchestrating the industry attachments, overseas experience and service-learning. CLEL will work together with our five Schools to offer a comprehensive, integrated, flexible system of learning for adults throughout their lives.

The Guest-of-Honour for the launch event was Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Education & Trade and Industry. Together with SUSS President Prof Cheong Hee Kiat and Provost Prof Tsui Kai Chong, they unveiled the SUSS LifE logo signage. Mr Chee then proceeded to tour the SUSS LifE booth which showcased our new lifelong and experiential education through the diverse programmes and courses that SUSS offers for the young to middle age to silver learners. There was a lot of lively interaction as he toured the various booths and the networking session with our senior leaders, students, alumni and industry partners.

In celebration of the launch of SUSS LifE, a special SUSS lifelong learning credit of S$500 for SUSS alumni was announced. Credit can be used in tandem with our existing alumni schemes and the national SkillsFuture credit.
