SUSS And Tencent Join Hands To Offer Overseas Internship Programme

On 27 March 2018, the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tencent to offer a new strategic marketing and internship programme to support WeChat's foray into South East Asia. SUSS is the first university in Singapore to collaborate with Tencent to offer an overseas internship programme.

The internship programme allows SUSS students and faculty members to develop new business growth initiatives for WeChat in the South East Asian markets. This includes increasing the visibility and awareness of WeChat.

The MOU was signed by Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of SUSS, together with Ms Zoe Zhou, Public Relations Centre Director, WeChat Tencent.

Currently, six full-time students from SUSS were hand-picked by WeChat to join the pilot programme. They will work closely with Tencent's team, including WeChat, to launch several campaigns to drive greater awareness in Singapore and key South East Asia markets and will also undertake further research and market studies to promote WeChat's services in the region. The students can expect to improve their technical and professional skills and take away a valuable contextual learning experience, preparing them to be world-ready in a smart nation.
