SUSS Canoeing Team Clinches Fourth Place At Annual Inter-Tertiary Canoe Sprint Championship (ITCC)

On 17 to 18 April 2021, the SUSS Canoeing team participated in the annual Inter-Tertiary Canoe Sprint Championship (ITCC) and clinched an overall fourth place among all the schools that participated! Here are the overall results:

Individual Category:

  • Yan Zexun made it to the finals and finished 1st in the C1 Men’s 1000m event.
  • Hoon Ding Cheng made it to the finals and finished in 4th place for the K1 Men’s 1000m event.
  • Matthew Low finished in 8th place for the K1 Men’s 200m event.
  • Sue Lyanna made it to the finals and finished in 6th place for both the K1 Women’s 500m and 200m event.
  • Razza Farwyzah finished in 7th and 8th place for the K1 Women’s 500m and 200m event respectively.

Team Category:

  • Hoon Ding Cheng and Benjamin Low made it to the finals and were the first runner-up for the K2 Men’s 1000m event.

     

One of the participants, Sue Lyanna, shared: “As I will be graduating soon, I hope that the team will not give up on this sport. This sport has taught me many skills such as self-discipline and resilience. I hope more would join us in this journey!”

Captain Razza Farwyzah, mentioned: “I learnt a lot during the race and I hope to be able to come back stronger and that the team will be able to soar to greater heights too!”
