SUSS CG Swimming – IVP Games Highlights 2019

SUSS Swimming CG took part in their second competition – 2019 Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Games on 12 and 13 January 2019.

The IVP Games is a series of sports and games that students of the local tertiary institutions compete in annually. The IVP Games serve as a platform to foster goodwill and friendship through active participation in sports and to improve the standards of sports among the participating tertiary institutions.

This year’s IVP Swimming meet was held in the main pool of Singapore Sports School and hosted by Republic Polytechnic. The participating tertiary institutions include local universities, polytechnics and ITEs.

Most of the SUSS swimmers managed to break their personal best timings for the events that they had trained for and managed to score points for the team in the process. The Men’s team scored 4 points, while the Women’s team scored 3 points, bringing it to a total for 7 points for SUSS Swimming Team.

Although there were no medals won, SUSS Swimming Team forged a strong camaraderie through supporting each other for individual and team events, and from training together for the competition. With that in mind, SUSS Swimming Team hopes for more participants to join in this sport, and to excel and perform better in future competitions.
