On 25 July 2022, SUSS hosted delegates from Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) where representatives from both universities sat down to have a detailed introduction to the respective institutions and units involved in the collaboration. This is the first time that JBNU is in partnership with a Singapore university.

A Q&A session was held where they were able to further discuss the details of what had been agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) before signing the agreement. The initiatives to the partnership will bring in more opportunities to students such as Dual Master’s degree programmes, facilitate admissions for JBNU students, summer and winter school opportunities, student exchange programmes and Impact Startup Challenges.

This collaboration not only represents two different cultures coming together, but also a mesh between the traditional and non-traditional universities. The synergy between JBNU and SUSS will bring about new growth opportunities to both parties as well.

“The MOU initiates many exciting exchanges and collaboration possibilities between SUSS and JBNU. I am confident that the activities and programmes carved out by both universities in the upcoming months will be enriching for students of both universities,” shared Professor Robbie Goh, SUSS Provost.

“I’m honoured and happy to sign the MOU agreement with SUSS. Our delegates were amazed at the professionalism and practicality of SUSS. I hope that both JBNU and SUSS will develop remarkably through mutual exchange and cooperation in the future and become world-leading universities beyond Asia,” said Professor JaeBaek Lee, JBNU Vice President.
