Tan Shwu Jing from IDS Medical shared more about SilverFit 3D, a system for virtual rehabilitation. Designed mainly for elderly users, it encourages physical activities and cognitive stimulation with interactive digital systems in the form of computer games. The system has a 3D camera that can detect the movements of up to four users, making it possible to train without needing any controller, keyboard, or mouse. Implementing this system leads to a more natural and less conscious execution of the exercises.

As the sharing drew to a close, the startups showcased their devices at their booths, creating an immersive, hands-on experience for all attendees.

Two Lovot robots brought by Dr Kelvin Tan, SUSS Head of Minor in Applied Ageing Studies programme, caught the attention of onlookers. Lovots are social robots with a camera that allows them to identify the user and follow them around. It can also dance and show affection by changing its eyes to hearts. One of its notable features is that it has the exact temperature of a human being, making it warm to touch or carry, which helps in enhancing levels of comfort and feelings of love and warming the hearts of the elderly.

With such inventions significantly helping the elderly, we are excited to bring in more to educate the masses on these innovative inventions! Do come down to show your support and anticipate the biggest event, the Geronpreneurship Innovation Festival, happening this year!
