SUSS is immensely proud to have been part of this year’s Green Festival at East Coast! The GreenSpace+ was officially launched at the East Coast Green Festival on 19 November 2022. SUSS Digital Media students created and showcased 13 video clips on sustainability ranging from making compost, recycling, upcycling clothing to urban farming. This video project reinforced their understanding of the various themes of sustainability, environmental initiatives, eco-friendly products, sustainable business practices and numerous green projects.

Sim Zi Quan, SUSS Digital Media student, shared, “During the short film's pre-production phase, I pondered ways to ignite a spark of action in the audience and realised that the most prominent factor is relatability. Showcasing our daily lifestyles and habits helps individuals understand the significance of making small green actions and playing a part in achieving something greater”.

The high turnout for the two-day event provided a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with the community and share ideas on sustainable living. The visit to our container by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, Senior Minister of State Tan Kiat How, and their team of East Coast advisors greatly encouraged our students.

The new GreenSpace+ aims to create awareness on sustainability, spur co-innovation in the sustainability space in Singapore and add vibrancy to the community. SUSS would like to thank Ms Gina Sim, founder of GreenSpace+, for inviting us to showcase our works at this year’s Green Festival.
