SUSS-NAFA Partnership

UniSIM-NAFA Partnership

On 17 March 2008, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between SIM University (UniSIM) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Under this MOU, UniSIM and NAFA collaborated to develop the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication with Business programme. This programme, the first of its kind in Singapore to combine both arts and business, was launched in July 2008. It offers professionals in the advertising, media and design industries who hold a diploma in visual communication or related fields, an opportunity to pursue a degree.

Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of UniSIM, said at the MOU signing ceremony, "The collaboration allows UniSIM and NAFA to draw on each other's strengths. By infusing arts education with the important element of business and management training, we hope to groom multi-talented, cross-disciplinary arts professionals who will bring the creative industry in Singapore to a whole new perspective." The first batch of students graduated from this programme in 2011.

* On 17 March 2017, SIM University (UniSIM) was renamed Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) as part of its re-structuring to become a Singapore autonomous university.
