Syazan is the Founder of Project Get Flamed!, a ground-up “by youths, for youths” initiative.
Recognising the negative impacts of gaming toxicity, Syazan took a leap of faith in 2020 and led a team of youths across different Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) to challenge the narrative. After a series of ground engagements, prototypes, and pilot programme, Syazan successfully led his team to be awarded funding under the “Our SG Fund for Digital Readiness” from the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), to embark on film productions to prepare educational outreach tools to be used for their community engagement efforts.
In 2022, Syazan and his team kickstarted their series of interactive workshops and programmes for schools and the wider community, and have since engaged over 1,300 youths to date. Syazan believes that youths hold the potential to be gamechangers to promote a positive and inclusive gaming community, one match at a time.
Syazan looks forward to expanding his team, partnership, and engagement efforts together with his Co-Founder and best friend, Hannah, to build a united front against toxic gaming culture.
A strong advocate for community empowerment, Syazan is a Year 2 Law Undergraduate at Singapore Management University.
