Cynthia has been an early childhood educator, leader and curriculum specialist, with a particular interest in infant-toddler pedagogies. She is currently a Curriculum Specialist at NTUC First Campus, and specialises in the development and enactment of curriculum for children from birth to three years old. She was previously a centre principal at The Caterpillar’s Cove Child Development and Study Centre, and part of the inaugural cohort of early childhood leaders from the Principal Matters programme by Lien Foundation. Cynthia and her team of teachers were recognized with the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) awards for Outstanding Centre for Teaching and Learning, and Distinction in Innovation. The opportunities to lead and mentor, and support the learning and growth of a team of teachers were what she found most rewarding and meaningful in her work as a centre principal.
Cynthia has presented at several local and international conferences, and has been involved in ECDA initiatives. Upon invitation from ECDA, she is currently serving as a member of a committee tasked to review the Early Years Development Framework. Cynthia is a firm believer in continuous learning and the importance of bridging theory and practice, and she is working towards the completion of her doctoral thesis on infant learning and involvement in Singapore early childhood settings.
