Synopsis

Ask your workers if health and safety is important and you will get a resounding “Yes!” Yet, poor health behaviours and work accidents continue. This course tackles this intention-action gap by equipping you with the tools to (1) diagnose unhealthy and unsafe behaviours and (2) implement evidence-based interventions.

In this 1-day course, you will discover the attitudes, social forces, and organisational factors behind key unhealthy and unsafe behaviours in your business unit, and plan specific actions and interventions, with the help of expert trainers, to promote health and tackle unsafe behaviours.

About the Trainers

 

Dr Victor Seah has over a decade of experience in executive training and adult education having worked with organisations such as ANZ bank, ABC broadcaster, Qantas airlines, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities. His research focuses on behavioural insights and nudges, workplace behaviour change, and creativity and psychology at work and has been published in journals such as Sustainability, the European Journal of Psychological Assessment, and Learning and Individual Differences. Dr Seah is a frequent contributor to local media such as The Straits Times, TODAYonline, Channel News Asia, and The Business Times.

 

Associate Professor Chui Yoon Ping is an expert in human factors and safety. She is currently the Deputy Dean of Core Learning, College of Interdisciplinary and Experiential Learning at Singapore University of Social Science. She was previously Head of the Human Factors in Safety programme at SUSS, the first HF undergraduate degree programme in Singapore. She was the Inaugural Honorary Fellow at Workplace Safety and Health Institute (2013-2015), and a member of the 2nd and 3rd External Review Panel for SAF Safety (ERPSS) (2017 to current). She is also a member of the Workplace Safety and Health Council (National Work at Heights Safety) Taskforce 2018 – current).

Course Fee

¹ Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
² Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.

• Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.

• Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.

• The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
