On 8 February 2013, SIM University (UniSIM) and the Defence Psychology Department of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) sealed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Business Analytics programme, with Colonel Bernard Lim, Chief Psychologist of MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces, and Head of the Defence Psychology Department; and Associate Professor Lee Pui Mun, Dean of School of Business (SBIZ), as signatories.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr Tan Kok Yam, Director Manpower at MINDEF; Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of UniSIM; members of the Defence Psychology Department; and SBIZ faculty.

Under the MOU, UniSIM Business Analytics students will be able to work on business problems and data supplied by the Defence Psychology Department for their applied projects. At the same time, MINDEF, through the Defence Psychology Department, will have access to the Business Analytics expertise at UniSIM.

* On 17 March 2017, SIM University (UniSIM) was renamed Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) as part of its re-structuring to become a Singapore autonomous university.
