On 14 July 2022, Global FinTech Institute (GFI), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and SUSS signed a Memorandum of Understanding to co-build the Small and Medium Enterprise Financial Empowerment Programme (SFE Programme).

The SFE Programme aims to educate micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in foundational digital financial literacy skills, enable them to gain good understanding of cross border financial services relevant to MSMEs, and help them thrive in the post-pandemic digital economy.

In this partnership, MAS will work with GFI to architect and jointly manage the SFE Programme, and with SUSS, as the founding academic partner, to provide academic leadership on the Programme as it grows globally to be adopted by other leading institutions.

The MOU undergirds SUSS’s intention to collaborate with MAS and GFI on knowledge content development in finance technology, digital economy and financial empowerment for MSMEs, in the endeavour to augment Singapore’s position as a global financial learning hub.
