The Master of Finance (MFIN) programme, the Graduate Diploma in Financial Technology (GDFT) programme, and the Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology (GCFT) programme offered by the School of Business at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) aim to help finance professionals and those in the PMET segment to gain knowledge of financial innovations and technologies, and to support upskilling to meet work challenge posed by advancements in technology and the disruptive changes in applications, processes, products, as well as business models that are transforming financial services industry.

These programmes cater to entrepreneurs, mid-career bankers, executives and finance professionals to acquire professional advancement and deepen their knowledge of finance, financial technologies and financial innovations. SUSS alumni who are looking for upgrading opportunities in finance area will find that these programmes are good options for them to continue with lifelong learning.

Unique Features of the Programme

They focus on financial technologies and financial innovations.
They are stackable and thus in line with the nation's emphasis on stackable credentials that facilitate lifelong learning. Students who have graduated with GCFT are entitled to course credit recognition when they further enroll into GDFT and MFIN programmes. Students who have graduated with GDFT are entitled to course credit recognition when they enroll into MFIN programe.
Deviating from traditional finance programmes, these programmes emphasise more on technical know-how, programming skills and hands-on lab training.

A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance or in related disciplines (e.g. Accountancy, Economics, Statistics, IT). Applicants with relevant work experience but with other qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants with social outreach or volunteering experience have an added advantage.
Have completed a statistics course at an undergraduate level or higher, without which the applicants may be required to take a preparatory course on Statistics to fulfill this requirement.

This programme is currently unable to take in international students, i.e., you must be a Singapore citizen, permanent resident or a resident in Singapore (e.g., Employment Pass holder) in order to apply for admission.

The programmes provide participants with different pathways and exit points to cater to different professional goals, needs and interests. Participants can exit at the graduate certificate, graduate diploma or master's level and return to stack towards a higher qualification at a later time.

Modular courses may also be taken individually, via SUSS Academy and recognized for credit when applying for admission to the GDFT and MFIN programmes.

Level	Structure
Graduate Certificate	GCFT students are required to complete 15 cu of coursework. The minimum period is half a (0.5) year. Students have to maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 in their coursework as part of the fulfilment of the GCFT programme. Currently, the modular courses within the GCFT programme are offered in July semester via SUSS Academy. Upon successful completion of these modular courses and attaining the minimum CGPA, eligible students may apply for the Graduate Certificate. Graduate Diploma	GDFT students are required to complete 30 cu of coursework. Most courses are based on a 5 cu configuration. The minimum candidature period is one (1) year and the maximum candidature period is two (2) years. Students have to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in their coursework as part of the fulfilment of the GDFT programme. Application to GDFT programme is open for both January and July intakes.
Master	MFIN students are required to complete 60 cu of coursework. Most courses are based on a 5 cu configuration. The minimum candidature period is one (1) year and the maximum candidature period is four (4) years (average time taken is 1.5 - 2 years). Students have to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in their coursework as part of the fulfilment of the MFIN programme. Application to MFIN programme is open for both January and July intakes. Regular Pathway The regular pathway (MFIN) is open to Singapore citizens, permanent residents or residents in Singapore. Students on the regular MFIN pathway take a maximum 20 cu of courses per semester and complete the programme in maximum 4 years. Accelerated Pathway The accelerated pathway (MFIN-A) is open to international students as well as Singapore citizens, permanent residents or residents in Singapore. Students on the accelerated pathway take 30 cu of courses on average per semester (no more than 35 cu) and complete the programme in 1 year.

Entrepreneurs, mid-career bankers, executives and finance professionals who wish to acquire professional advancement and deepen their knowledge of finance, financial technologies and financial innovations.

The global finance industry is experiencing considerable disruption brought about by changes in fiscal regulatory regime, economic uncertainty, and financial innovation and technology. As such, the key aim of these programmes is to help students to upskill themselves in rising to this new reality.

How many intakes are there in a year for the Master of Finance (MFIN), the Graduate Diploma in Financial Technology (GDFT), and the Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology (GCFT)?
There are two intakes a year for MFIN and GDFT.

Modular courses within the GCFT programme may be taken individually via
Graduate Diploma in Financial Technology
in the July semester. Upon successful completion of these modular courses and attaining the minimum CGPA of 2.5, eligible students may apply to SUSS Academy for the Graduate Certificate.

Modular courses taken individually via SUSS Academy may be recognized for credit when applying for admission to the GDFT or MFIN programmes, provided that the minimum CGPA requirement for the respective programme is met.
How long does it take to complete MFIN, GDFT, or GCFT?
The minimum candidature period for MFIN programme is one and a half (1.5) years and the maximum candidature period is four (4) years.

The minimum candidature period for GDFT programme is one (1) year and the maximum candidature period is two (2) years.

The minimum candidature period for GCFT programme is half a (0.5) year.
Are there any special entry requirements?
Applicants to the programmes need to fulfil the following criteria for admission:

No, GMAT or GRE score is not required for admission to MFIN, GDFT, or GCFT programme.

Is an interview required for admission?
Shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo one or more interviews conducted by the University.

What is the requirement to graduate?

These are programmes with evening (7pm to 10pm during weekday) or weekend classes. Students can work in the day and study in the evening.
Can I apply for course exemption and recognition?
Credit recognition may be granted to applicants for courses completed in SUSS or in approved institutions or organisations which are, or deemed to be, offering relevant graduate-level courses. Credit recognition shall follow SUSS’s policy.
I am working full time. Will I be able to enrol in the MFIN, GDFT, or GCFT programme?
These are programmes with evening (during weekday) or weekend classes. Students can work in the day and study in the evening.

What happens if I do not complete the graduate programmes (e.g. Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master) within the candidature period? Can I apply to take the remaining courses via CET pathway?
Students who have not completed their graduate programmes within the stipulated candidature period will not be eligible for the award of the qualification for such graduate programmes. Such students however may apply to take, via the CET pathway, the remaining courses which they did not complete under their graduate programmes as part of their personal learning and development. Such application will be subjected to the CET admission requirement. However, as such students have exceeded the candidature period for their graduate programmes, they will not be awarded the qualification for such graduate programmes even after taking and completing the remaining courses via the CET pathway (“Condition”).
