The Master of Psychology is a professional postgraduate training programme for psychology degree holders to specialise and work as either organisational or forensic psychologists. Building on the foundations learnt from the psychology degree, this postgraduate training focuses on core research skills and the application of the science of psychology to maximise potential at the workplace or understand behaviour of criminals and offenders.
Unique Features of the Programme
- This is a skills-based programme that focuses on helping you to develop and hone essential skills needed in applying psychology to either forensic psychology or organisational psychology.
- The Master of Psychology (Forensic Psychology) is the only postgraduate training programme specific to the Singapore legal system and the types of crime in Singapore.
- The Master of Psychology (Organisational Psychology) is the first postgraduate training programme in organisational psychology in Singapore and includes professional certification courses.
- This programme is conducted using a blended learning approach, with a mixture of both face-to-face lessons and e-learning, so that you can learn at your own pace.
Career Prospects
The Master of Psychology will provide you with the research and professional skills needed to practice as an Organisational Psychologist or a Forensic Psychologist in Singapore.
Programme Structure
To graduate with Master of Psychology, students are required to complete 60 credit units (cu) of courses and attain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 (out of 5.0). Students will need to take compulsory practicums conducted mostly during weekday business hours as well as complete 1,000 hours of practicum.
Throughout the Master of Psychology programme, students will have an estimated 500 hours of practicum training under PSY501, PSY502 and PSY599. Students will be required to complete the remaining hours (estimated 500 hours) with their self-sourced practicums.

Candidature
The minimum and maximum candidature for the Master of Psychology is 2 years and 4 years respectively.
For international students, all compulsory graded coursework and graded practicums (PSY501, PSY502, and PSY599) must be completed within the first two years of candidature. International students may complete any remaining self-sourced practicum hours during the third and fourth years of candidature in their country of residence. Such arrangements are subject to prior approval by the Programme and must meet all programme requirements, including supervision and assessment standards. Attendance & Participation
As this is a professional postgraduate training programme, attendance and active participation in seminars, workshops, practicums, and supervision sessions are required and form part of the assessment. Students are therefore expected to plan their schedules in advance to ensure that all programme requirements are met within the candidature period.
Curriculum
Admission Requirements

In addition, applicants should have an undergraduate degree in psychology, preferably with honours, and have at least two years of relevant working experience in a related field.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents as part of their application:
- Academic Transcripts
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- A personally written statement of interest outlining their motivation for, and reasons for selecting, the programme (maximum one page)
Specialisation Tracks and Eligibility
- The Organisational Psychology track is open to both local and international applicants.
- The Forensic Psychology track is restricted to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents; international applicants are not eligible for this track.
English Language Proficiency (International Applicants – Organisational Psychology Track only)
International applicants whose first language is not English, or whose undergraduate studies were not conducted in English, must meet one of the following requirements:
- TOEFL PBT > 580, with (preferably) a TWE of 5, or
- TOEFL iBT > 85, with a minimum of 22 in writing, or
- IELTS > 6.5, with no sub-score below 6
